King’s Casino Rozvadov signs new deal with WSOP

King’s Casino, located in Rozvadov, Czech Republic has been very successful in hosting World Series of Poker Events, so much so that the venue has secured 2017 and 2019 events before this year’s scheduled event even begins. The casino announced a multi-year deal was signed with the World Series of Poker to see the WSOP Europe Festival take place at the gambling venue next year and so on. According to terms of the deal, the casino will not only host the WSOPE events but also other WSOP branded tournaments.

King’s Casino announced the deal just before they are to host a World Series of Poker Circuit festival. The series will kick off tomorrow with the casino hosting several tournaments over a two week time frame, with the final day of play being the 14th of November. The casino is located in a small village with a population of around only 500 people but has the largest poker room in Europe and commonly sees hundreds of thousands of poker players enjoying the game every year, including pros and amateurs.

With the new deal, the WSOP and King’s Casino will work together to host an event in 2017 and 2019, both being WSOP Europe tournament stops. Each year will include a festival in the fall and will offer at minimum ten events featuring a World Series of Poker gold bracelet. At minimum, €5 million will be offered in guaranteed prize money. In 2018 and 2020, the venue will host two WSOP Circuit festivals while 2017, 2019 and 2021 will feature one WSOP circuit event in the spring season.

On top of offering several WSOP brand events, the casino will also see select events filmed for television. The partnership includes broad content distribution for the gold bracelet events of the WSOP Europe festivals held in 2017 and 2019. The Main Events of both festivals will be filmed and the other tournaments covered as well. The casino and the WSOP are currently working on details for the festival and will be announcing dates for the 2017 event in the future.

While the poker room of King’s Casino is already quite large, the gambling venue is set to be even bigger due to a large expansion project. Forty additional poker tables are being added to the already 150 tables at the venue. To accommodate players, especially during multi-day events, a new hotel is being created. The hotel will feature 218 guest rooms and will be part of the gambling venue.

Ty Stewart is the Executive Director of the WSOP, who commented on the new partnership deal with King’s Casino by stating that the renovation project will be completed by 2017 and the casino will provide the environment needed for the large festival. With the guaranteed prize pools and media coverage, the WSOP Europe event will be able to replicate the poker scale that players have come to enjoy when attending the WSOP festival in the summer in Las Vegas.
